Mary Jones World

Innovative new visitor centre promoting the worldwide impact of the Bible and the work of the Bible Society in Wales. Celebrates the 15-year old weaver’s daughter, Mary Jones, who saved for six years to be able to afford a Bible printed in her native language of Welsh.

Then she walked about 25 miles from Llanfihangel y Pennant to Bala to buy a Bible from the Revd Thomas Charles. Charles and many of his family are buried at Llanycil.
