Plaque (on frontage of Barclays Bank) to denote site of former Orphan House in Northumberland Street. John Wesley laid the foundation stone of the Orphan House in 1743. It was the second Methodist chapel in England, intended as a place of preaching and education. Demolished 1856. Exhibits on display in Brunswick Methodist Church.
